Megan asks me, “Why is everything a struggle? Why are you making a film about the farm workers effort to be paid fair wages? Why can’t we just all be mellow?”
Allan tells me, “There does not need to be a wrong to be righted. Just write a pitch where people do good things without any bad events as inciting incidents.”
Just the other day, I was watching a film where no one argued.
They just said,
“Oh, you’re so nice.”
“ You’re so sweet.”
“ Good weather, isn’t it?”
“ Pretty dress you’re wearing.”
“ Gee, that’s nice.”
Then I left and asked for my ticket money back.
